Please read these terms carefully before using MailGuard. These terms form a binding agreement between you and MailGuard.
By creating an account or using the MailGuard API, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are using MailGuard on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
MailGuard provides email address verification via SMTP and DNS checks. We provide an API, dashboard, and bulk verification tools. We do not guarantee 100% accuracy — email server configurations change and some providers block verification probes. Results marked "unknown" may require re-checking.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and API keys. Keep your API keys confidential. Do not share keys with untrusted parties. You must notify us immediately if you believe your account or key has been compromised. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that show signs of abuse or unauthorized access.
You may use MailGuard only for legitimate email verification purposes — such as cleaning marketing lists, validating sign-up forms, or ensuring deliverability. You may NOT use MailGuard to harvest valid email addresses for spam, to verify emails for the purpose of sending unsolicited messages, to enumerate users of a particular domain, or to conduct any activity that violates applicable law.
Credits are purchased in advance and deducted per verification. Credits never expire. Refunds are available within 7 days of purchase if you have used fewer than 10% of the purchased credits. Monthly subscription credits reset at the start of each billing cycle and unused credits do not roll over. All prices are in INR and include GST.
Each plan has defined rate limits. Exceeding rate limits results in HTTP 429 responses. Systematic circumvention of rate limits (e.g. rotating API keys to bypass limits) is prohibited and may result in account suspension. If you need higher limits, contact us for an enterprise plan.
We target 99.9% monthly uptime for the verification API. Planned maintenance will be announced at least 24 hours in advance via our status page. Unplanned downtime beyond our SLA may be credited to your account at our discretion. SLA credits are not available on the free plan.
MailGuard and its logos, software, and documentation are owned by us and protected by Indian and international intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our software without express written permission.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MailGuard is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including damages from inaccurate verification results, business interruption, or data loss. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.
You may cancel your account at any time from your dashboard settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without prior notice for serious violations. On termination, your data will be deleted per our Privacy Policy. Unused credits are non-refundable except within the 7-day window described in the billing section.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Andhra Pradesh, India. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or dashboard notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
